White sapphire starbrite cut by john dyer gems - set into a 14KY the sun will always rise
this sapphire has  had such a journey it was meant to be in a ring mounting, however, while I was working on it, I accidentally cracked it completely clean in half!! AT NO FAULT TO JOHN DYER IT WAS ENTIRELY ME. The break was so clean and it resulted in two beautiful half shapes that I could not resist trying to turn a negative into a positive. I worked with a seasoned stone setter and he told me the best thing to do would be to fully bezel set the stone protecting all the sides. 
And that’s how the sun will always rise tailsman was born. Turning a negative into a positive and a reminder that things can always get better. 
This sapphire is a symbol of that - becoming a beautiful one of a kind jewelry piece from a mistake. 
The other half of the sapphire will become also become a one of a kind jewelry piece!
